Lobe Pump

Lobe Pump

A lobe pump is a type of positive displacement pump that uses intermeshing lobed rotors to move fluids efficiently and gently. Known for their ability to handle viscous, shear-sensitive, and particle-laden fluids, lobe pumps are widely used in industries such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and chemical processing. The pump operates by creating expanding cavities on the inlet side as the lobes come out of mesh, allowing fluid to enter. This fluid is then trapped between the lobes and the casing, and transported to the outlet side where the meshing lobes displace it out of the pump. Lobe pumps offer several advantages, including gentle handling of delicate fluids, versatility in managing a wide range of viscosities and flow rates, and a design that facilitates easy cleaning and maintenance. Their ability to maintain consistent flow despite pressure changes makes them highly efficient and reliable for various industrial applications.
